Wales
The opening round of Group B in the World Cup comes to an end this evening (Monday), when the United States meets Wales.
The American team is back on the main stage, this after the tournament in Russia failed to qualify at the end of an embarrassing qualifying campaign.
The current squad is completely different from the one that played in Brazil eight years ago, but the Americans won't settle for less than a third straight qualification to the knockout stage.
The big stars, Christian Pulisic from Chelsea, Weston McKenney from Juventus and Sergio Dest on loan from Barcelona to Milan, started in the 11 alongside two Leeds players, captain Tyler Adams.
Unlike the Americans, the wait for the Welsh was slightly longer.
After qualifying for the last two European Championships, Wales are now participating in the World Cup for the first time since 1958. Wales are once again relying on veteran Gareth Bale, who was recently introduced to American soccer when he won the MLS Championship with Los Angeles FC Midfielder Joe Allen is ineligible , so that Ethan Ampadu went up in the middle of the field next to Aron Ramsey.
