Thomas Hitzlsperger makes a curious suggestion after the ban on the "One Love" bandage at the World Cup.

The ex-national player received a direct complaint on Twitter.

Munich – A piece of fabric rocks the football world.

At the 2022 World Cup, there was a scandal on Monday because FIFA spoke a stubborn word of power.

Several European participants in the tournament in Qatar, including Germany, wanted to wear the "One Love" armband as a sign of diversity and tolerance.

However, the world association banned this at short notice with the threat of penalties.

Manuel Neuer is not wearing a "One Love" captain's armband at the World Cup opener on Wednesday against Japan.

Public criticism in the press was great, and the fans also condemned the DFB for withdrawing.

An openly homosexual German ex-national player is now making it clear what he thinks of this decision.

Thomas Hitzlsperger attacks FIFA President Gianni Infantino in the strongest terms and makes a suggestion that is not meant to be taken seriously, as also

No "One Love" armband at World Cup: Hitzlsperger attacks FIFA President Infantino - "How pathetic?!"

"Infantino even managed to force teams not to wear the #OneLove armband.

How pathetic?!” Hitzlsperger wrote on the short message service Twitter.

The 40-year-old is on a direct confrontation course with the football leader and criticizes the threatened sanctions in connection with the "One Love" captain's armband.

"Gianni Infantino thinks he's bigger than Virgil van Dijk, Manuel Neuer, Harry Kane and other top stars of world football," continued the ex-national player, who is openly homosexual: "He thinks the game belongs to him.

He can feel gay, Arabic, Muslim and many other things.

It's so sad that we've got to this point.” Hitzlsperger alludes to the pathetic speech given the day before the World Cup when FIFA President Infantino shook his head with shocking statements.

World Cup 2022: Rainbow shoelaces instead of "One Love" bandage?

Hitzlsperger's curious suggestion

"How about rainbow shoelaces?" Hitzlsperger asked with an ironic undertone.

However, the not entirely serious proposal also shows the desperation and frustration that prevails in the LGBTQ community due to such dubious FIFA decisions.

It remains to be seen whether Manuel Neuer & Co. will take up Hitzlsperger's idea or start another campaign.

The "One Love" bandage was considered by many experts only as symbolic politics.

Some would have preferred the rainbow armband on the arm of the captain, as practiced by Neuer at the EM 2021, although that was only understood as a superficial sign.

The fact that the messages for human rights (“No Discrimination”) are now being dictated by FIFA is a slap in the face for many.

"One Love" bandage: Hitzlsperger receives a complaint after a rainbow shoelace tweet

Hitzlsperger immediately received a complaint for his tweet.

The reported content was investigated by Twitter, which concluded that "it is not subject to removal under the Twitter Rules or German law."

Hitzlsperger published this message and provided it with three laughing emojis.

Hitzlsperger is working as an expert for ARD at the World Cup in Qatar and is likely to give his opinion on the pad issue again from Wednesday.

Born in Munich and former CEO of VfB Stuttgart, he played 52 international matches for the German national team between 2004 and 2010 and scored six goals.

Meanwhile, ZDF commentator Claudia Neumann was celebrated online for her rainbow outfit.
