After FIFA threatened consequences in the first World Cup game against Japan, the German national soccer team will forego the "One Love" captain's armband.

However, the DFB is apparently considering involving the International Sports Court (CAS) so that captain Manuel Neuer can wear the armband in the second game against Spain.

This is reported by the »image«.

The newspaper quotes DFB spokesman Steffen Simon as follows: “Fifa has banned us from showing diversity and human rights.

She combined this with massive threats of sporting sanctions without specifying them.

The DFB is checking whether this action by Fifa was lawful."

According to the report, the DFB is examining the possibility of applying for provisional legal protection from the ad hoc division of the Cas.

Ideally, Germany's captain could wear the armband banned by FIFA in the second World Cup game without having to fear a personal penalty or a point deduction for the entire team.

Fifa had banned the "One Love" armband with reference to World Cup regulations and threatened sporting sanctions for violations - the seven European associations around the German Football Association (DFB) gave in and announced that they were now going to wear it waive.

The "One Love" campaign was a joint action by teams from Germany, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Wales, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, neither of which qualified for the World Cup.

All nations have now refrained from wearing the bandage.
