Germany's national soccer team gave a signal of protest in their first game at the World Cup in Qatar.
The players around captain Manuel Neuer covered their mouths for the obligatory team photo before kick-off against Japan.
Originally, the DFB had planned to send a signal for tolerance with a "One Love" bandage.
However, the World Football Association (Fifa) had prohibited this, announcing sanctions.
Fifa had been heavily criticized for this.
