Fifa on Wednesday opened a second disciplinary procedure in two days due to abusive "songs" by supporters during the 2022 World Cup, this time against the Mexican Federation, after a similar decision targeting Ecuador on Tuesday.
The world body does not specify the nature of the songs concerned, during the Mexico-Poland meeting (0-0) on Tuesday, but indicates that it is relying on article 13 of its Disciplinary Code, which punishes the fact of "offending the dignity or integrity of a country, person or group by contemptuous, discriminatory or abusive words".
