At the opening game of the German national soccer team against Japan, Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser wore the "One Love" armband, which FIFA has banned from playing on the field.
The national players had previously covered their mouths during the team photo and thus protested against the ban.
Seven European football associations, including the DFB, had decided at short notice not to wear the bandage, which stands for diversity and tolerance, because of Fifa's threat of penalties for the players.
Faeser had previously called the ban a "big mistake" during her visit to Doha.
The armbands are also seen as a protest against the laws of the World Cup host, Qatar, which, among other things, criminalizes homosexuality.
A few days ago, ZDF commentator Claudia Neumann showed up with a T-shirt with a rainbow-colored print, and she wore a matching armband in the press gallery.
