The coach of Hapoel Holon, Guy Goodes filed a claim of NIS 867,548 against Maccabi Rishon LeZion for wages payments that were unlawfully and unilaterally offset from payslips, underpayments for pension, vacation, severance pay, abusive employment, and more.

In the lawsuit submitted to the Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court by attorneys Amit Pines and Avishi Ifergan, Godes' last season in Rishon Lezion is detailed, during which the team failed at the beginning of the season, and outgoing team chairman Yitzhak Perry came out against him in the media until, according to the lawsuit, "he was forced to reach an agreement regarding to finish his work".

According to the Rishon LeZion agreement, you will pay Godes seven monthly payments totaling 61,730 gross, including social contributions for pension and compensation from January to July 2022. To the extent that during the 2021/22 playing season the coach signs a work agreement with another team, the gross amount for the new team will be deducted from the above salary balance.

Subject to full payment of the payments in full and on time, the agreement is canceled for the next game season, the 2022/23 season.

According to the lawsuit, after Godes signed in Holon, "Maccabi Rishon Lezion began to act in a defiant and/or spiteful manner and/or that is against the law."

According to the person in the lawsuit, the group from the city of Hain offset Godes his championship bonus in Holon as wages, and not as unilateral bonuses.

"With all due respect, Maccabi Rishon LeZion erred when it deducted the achievement grant from the salary and in fact according to its convenience considered it as salary."

In addition, it was claimed that the team short-retired Goodes for a pension for three seasons, amounting to 111,229, and illegally reset his vacation entitlement days.

Godes also claims severance pay due to the humiliating treatment of the previous club chairman Yitzhak Perry who, among other things, said in interviews about the coach that the team "has reached the bottom of the ladder", "is not trained" and that "Godes is not currently suitable for Maccabi Rishon Lezion". Another claim is Because in the agreement between the parties, it was stipulated that Goodes would receive a commission if he raised sponsorships for the group and brought them "Mosei Shasha"

The lawsuit states that after Rishon Lezion did not pay the payments in full and on time, the contract for the coming season is valid and that they have to pay the difference between his wages in Rishon Lezion for the coming season (740,476 gross NIS) and his salary in Holon (634,716 gross NIS).

The lawsuit claims that Rishon Lezion filed a lawsuit against Godes before the Basketball Association's Arbitration Institute, but according to the plaintiffs, the lawsuit should be litigated in the Labor Court and not in the Basketball Association's court.

Rishon Lezion confirmed the receipt of the indictment, adding that "after we study it, we will respond where necessary."
