Much to the displeasure of ex-national player Didi Hamann, who immediately commented on the post.

"It's a shame you're still posting that.

Humiliating the opponent has never been part of the spirit of the game," the Sky expert said, adding: "Today only one of the two players is laughing - and that's not Rüdiger.

After the DFB defeat, the clip made its rounds on the Internet, and numerous international users took the same line.

"The moment Antonio Rüdiger made fun of Japan, Germany lost the game," wrote a Japanese user.

"It was a disrespectful run.

Many just enjoyed themselves.

According to a Brazilian fan, the German lacks "respect and professionalism".

Japan gave the Germans a lesson.

Rüdiger has shown his "stork run" a few times before, in a

interview he once explained: "I do it because I think I'm faster that way.

If people find that amusing, I like to laugh with them.” If the Germans don't succeed in turning the tide against Spain, Rüdiger has less to laugh about.
