Water polo: "We are vagabonds", regrets the manager of the Cercle des Nageurs Noiséens

The Cercle des Nageurs de Noisy-le-Sec was finally able to find a host swimming pool for its round of 16 first leg of the European Cup, next Wednesday.

This Thursday morning, at the Maurice-Thorez swimming pool in Montreuil, the polo players from the Cercle des Nageurs Noiséen 93 find a slight smile before diving into the pool for their daily training.

Their manager Jonathan Moriamé has just announced the good news.

After two weeks of uncertainty to find a basin, leaving the shadow of a package hanging over, the leaders of Noisy-le-Sec obtained the previous evening the authorization to be able to play their round of 16 first leg of the Eurocup, next Wednesday against Trieste, at the Aquatique l'Odyssée center in Aulnay-sous-Bois.

“It's a relief, I thank the city of Aulnay-sous-Bois for its help, supports Jonathan Moriamé.

It's a great show of solidarity because the city had nothing to gain apart from helping a club in the department and promoting their swimming pool with a high-level match.

“The Seine-Saint-Denis club will still have to pay €3,000 for the rental of the pool and charter a truck to transport the equipment (goals, water lines, etc.) from the Montreuil swimming pool to that of Aulnay sous Bois.

“We would have liked to play our meeting at the Montreuil swimming pool where we have our bearings but the inter-municipal structure Est Ensemble (which has the delegation of 12 swimming pools in the territory of Seine-Saint-Denis) refused, indicates Jonathan Moriamé.

It's sad because we had proposed to the associations present in Maurice-Thorez next Wednesday to come and train exceptionally at the Noisy swimming pool and they had accepted the principle… Est Ensemble replied that we were interfering.

The municipal structure had also asked us at the start of the season to play our championship matches at home on Sunday afternoons rather than Saturdays to save money before turning around two weeks ago.

Results :

we have problems for two home games on Sunday against Sète next month and Marseille in March because our opponents have already taken their train ticket.

We are wanderers!

"We do DIY, it's very tiring"

Three years ago, the Seine-Saint-Denis club was happy to take advantage of a new setting for after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

A brand new swimming pool at Pont-de-Bondy with a 50-metre pool and 500-seat bleachers.

But the new mayor stopped the project.

Noisy must therefore constantly juggle between its municipal swimming pool in Noisy-le-Sec (whose pool is not up to standard for the championship and the European Cup), the Bobigny swimming pool, that of Montreuil and therefore that of Aulnay -undergrowth.

Despite its infrastructure concerns, Noisy is achieving incredible results with two Pro A finals in a row lost against Marseille and a place this summer in the European Top 20.

Added to this is the presence of 6 players from the French team (Rémi Saudadier, Denis Do Carmo, David Caumette, Denis Guérin, Emil Bjorgh and Rémi Garsau) who will try to perform well at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“I didn't expect that when I left the Berlin club to join Noisy last year, says captain Rémi Saudadier.

It's frustrating to constantly change pools to play and train.

We do DIY, it's very tiring.

Top athletes need benchmarks.

And we know that matches are often played on small details.

Contacted, the inter-municipal structure Est Ensemble answered us on the reasons which led it to refuse to lend the basin of the Maurice-Thorez swimming pool for the round of 16 first leg of the European Cup.

“We have difficulties with the financial management as well as the governance of the club and I have never heard of any arrangement with the associations of the city so that the latter can train next Wednesday at the Noisy-le-Sec swimming pool. , launches Fabienne Bugeon, the director of the sports department of Est Ensemble.

The Maurice-Thorez swimming pool in Montreuil also underwent rehabilitation for 3 weeks in October so we had to close it and this had an impact on the other associations in the town, including the swimming school.

We cannot yet penalize them next Wednesday with this request from the Cercle des nageurs noiséens.

The inhabitants of Montreuil do not understand why the Maurice-Thorez swimming pool is closed for a club in Noisy-le-Sec.
