Switzerland - Cameroon:

victory for Cameroon

I think an African team can do well in this World Cup and I want to believe that it will be it.

Uruguay v South Korea:

Uruguay win

“Uruguay because they are used to playing knife matches during qualifying.

This will make the difference for a first World Cup match against a lesser opponent.

Portugal - Ghana:

victory for Portugal

“Portugal victory in difficulty.

Ghana have quality but the key players from Portugal will make the small difference.

Brazil - Serbia:

victory for Brazil

"Brazil, big favorite of this World Cup for me."

statement of the day

Tite, coach of Brazil, does not want to see his team, one of the favorites, stumble like Argentina or Germany: “

The poor performance of other countries, such as Argentina, should make us think.

We know that there are no easy moments during a World Cup.

We can be proud that all qualified countries are doing their best to win the matches.

Player to watch: Federico Valverde (Uruguay)

He is Real Madrid's driving force this season, with 8 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances.

Amazing figures, he who had scored only 6 goals in his first 148 matches at Real.

A hardworking midfielder with a defensive profile, he was repositioned on the right side of the attack by Carlo Ancelotti.

Without giving up his energy, his grinta and his ball striking, one of the best in the world outside the box.

When he scores, it's often with panache.

A good reason to watch the Celeste in Qatar.

The expression of the day: the coup du sombrero

The kind of gestures that make the crowds stand up.

The sombrero kick is a rare dribble that involves passing the ball over the opponent's head and collecting it behind.

Its name refers to the hat originating in Mexico, which is recognized by its high height.

In the past, Ronaldinho and Jay-Jay Okocha loved the sombrero.

The Nigerian had made one that remained famous, with Bolton against Arsenal in the Premier League, to the point that some in Germany and England call this gesture the “Okocha-trick”.

In English, we also speak of "rainbow flick".

Today, Neymar uses it on occasion.

But, of the images that exist, the pioneer would be another Brazilian, Alexandre De Carvalho Kaneko, player of the 1960s and 1970s.
