The "One Love" bandage caused a scandal at the 2022 World Cup.
The Bavarian Football Association is setting an example on the next regional league match day.
Munich – The 2022 World Cup in Qatar makes the headlines, but little is said about football.
Human rights violations, homophobic statements by World Cup officials and allegations of corruption surrounding the awarding of the World Cup - the criticism of Qatar and the world football association FIFA does not stop.
The highlight of the tournament so far, however, has probably been the scandal surrounding the "One Love" bandage.

Actually, the captains of the largest European football associations (teams at the 2022 World Cup), including the DFB around player leader Manuel Neuer, wanted to wear the bandage at the World Cup games.
But FIFA prevented this under threat of sporting sanctions.
There was even talk of a point deduction and sending off.

The bandages then buckled and did without the bandage at the last second.
There was harsh criticism from many quarters.
Even the Bavarian Football Association (BFV) cannot resist taking a dig at the DFB.
"Attitude for diversity, tolerance": Unterhaching and Würzburg set an example in the regional league
"No question for the BFV," headlines the association in a statement on its website.
In it he announces that the captains of SpVgg Unterhaching and Würzburger Kickers will wear the rainbow armband on the coming 23rd match day of the Regionalliga Bayern.
The league leaders from the Munich suburbs meet bottom SV Heimstetten on Friday evening, third division relegated Würzburg welcomes VfB Eichstätt on Saturday.
An “attitude for diversity, tolerance and for a football that gets along without discrimination and exclusion” are the values that the players should convey according to the association.

The initiative came from Würzburg and Unterhaching, as confirmed by the BFV.
"One thing is clear: We didn't even think about banning this bandage," said association president Christoph Kern: "It goes without saying, human rights are a matter of course."

The rainbow armband is a symbol of the values represented by Bavarian amateur football.
