Just over five months after giving birth to a baby girl, Clarisse Agbégnénou is back on the tatami mats in Georgia with her club.

Georgia and the city of Gori host the Champions League this Saturday.

A competition that marks the return of Teddy Riner after an ankle injury this summer but also of Clarisse Agbégnénou.

The Olympic champion in Tokyo will be aligned with her club, Red Star de Champigny just over five months after giving birth to her first child.

Athena's mother, born on June 15, will return to competition on this occasion.

Last January, the judoka had missed the Grand Slam of Paris to explain a few days later that she was pregnant.

After the birth of her daughter in June, the native of Rennes had resumed training sessions at the end of August in Houlgate (Calvados).

A recovery adapted to her daughter whom she is breastfeeding.

Fasten your seatbelts !

She never thought she would come back so soon.

Never.

And yet, 5 months after becoming a mother, Clarisse Agbegnenou is making her return to competition.

After several months of work, the champion officially returns to competition with the highest of the club events.

A new stage which should take the flag bearer of France to the Tokyo Olympics towards her ultimate goal of her career: Paris 2024. At 30, the double Olympic champion (in less than 63 kg and by teams) did not consider herself not yet ready to participate in the Worlds in Uzbekistan in October.

After the Champions League, Clarisse Agbégnénou should then probably continue in 2023 with the Paris Grand Slam (February 4 and 5), unless it is in Tel Aviv, two weeks later.

It remains to be seen in which category, the leader of women's judo will compete.

In Georgia, it will be in -70 kg since its -63 kg category is not present in the Champions League by teams.

Then, Agbégnénou has the will to find his fetish category.
