After a high technical performance, the Iranian national team was able to win three valuable points from its victory today against Wales with two goals without a response, in the second round for the second group in the group stage of the FIFA World Cup, which is currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha.
At Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, where the match was held, the Iranians waited until the eighth minute of stoppage time (98th minute) to score the first goal through the player Rozbeh Chishmi, and the tenth minute of stoppage time (100th minute) to score the second goal through the player Ramin Rezaian.
Three important points restored hope for the Iranian national team to qualify for the second round, knowing that in the 16th minute the referee canceled a goal for Iran on the grounds of offside after returning to the (mouse) technique.
Wales was represented by Wayne Hennessy, Chris Mipham, Joseph Rodon, Ben Davies, Conor Roberts, Ethan Ampadiou, Aaron Ramsey, Harry Wilson, Neco Williams, Gareth Bale and Kiefer Moore.
The Iranian national team included Seyyed Hossein Hosseini, Ramin Rezaian, Morteza Pourali, Majid Hosseini, Milad Mohammadi, Ehsan Haj Safi, Ahmad Nurullah, Saeed Ezzatullah, Ali Golzadeh, Sardar Azmoun and Mahdi Taremi.
The Iranian national team lost to England by six goals to two in the first round, while the Wales national team tied with its American counterpart in the same round with one goal for the same.
