London's Wembley Stadium decked out in rainbow colors on Friday in support of the LGBTQ+ community, ahead of the England-USA match at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where the homosexuality is illegal.
England are one of the seven European nations which have given up having their team captain wear the rainbow armband with the slogan "One Love" during the competition, under threat of sanctions from Fifa.

The English Football Association (FA) have been criticized in their country for finally deciding against wearing the armband.

Trying to eradicate discrimination of all kinds, including homophobia, from football is something everyone in the FA strongly believes in
,” the association wrote in a statement.

The FA will continue to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community and all other communities during and after the competition, starting with illuminating the arch of Wembley Stadium in the colors of the rainbow for the match. Friday night with the United States
