Qatar also lost the second game at the World Cup on home soil.
The Qatari played much better against Senegal than in the opening game, but still lost 1:3 (0:1).
The Senegalese goals were scored by Boulaye Dia (41'), Famara Diédhiou (48') and Cheikh Dieng (84'), while substitute Mohammed Muntari scored for Qatar (78').
Due to the defeat, Qatar only has a slim chance of reaching the round of 16.
With zero points, the hosts are in last place in Group A, in which all other teams have three points.
For progress to be mathematically possible, Ecuador must win against the favored Netherlands (5 p.m., TV: ARD).
A new goalkeeper, Meshaal Barsham, came into the Qatar goal after Saad Al-Sheeb's 2-0 defeat by Ecuador in the opening match made him look bad.
Qatar played much more confidently and made several successful moves.
Qatar is denied a penalty
One of those was a counterattack in the 34th minute that Akram Afif could have completed.
Instead, the Qatari delayed slightly and at the last moment pushed himself between the ball and the rushing Ismaïla Sarr, who could no longer avoid it and bumped into Afif.
However, Qatar did not get the required penalty (34').
Both teams played calmly and there were hardly any chances to score.
That required a serious mistake by Qatar central defender Boualem Khoukhi, who went over the ball in his own penalty area.
Dia was ready and used the gift with a shot into the left corner to make it 1-0 (41st).
The damper just before half-time was immediately followed by 0:2 as the game continued.
Attacker Diédhiou escaped cover from a corner kick and got the ball first at the near post, which he headed safely into the goal (48').
The Qatari failed to come back from a 2-0 deficit.
They played more committed and also had good chances through Hassan Abdelkarim (61'), Almoez Ali (63') and Ismael Mohammed (67').
But you could rely on the top Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
The only time the Chelsea pro was powerless was a Mohammed cross, which Muntari headed in perfectly (78').
Joker Cheikh Dieng responded to the goal with a 3-1 win for Senegal after a pass from Iliman Ndiaye, who was also on the bench (84').
It was the gateway to the final score.
