Fulfilling one's childhood dream is something that not everyone can achieve.

The German winter athlete Julian Schmid has now ticked off exactly that.

Munich – It is the great rivalry in the Bundesliga: FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

These are the red record champions against the yellow ones who would like to be there.

In the top German division there has only been one permanent winner for a decade.

Julian Schmid, who probably sticks with FC Bayern, should have been happy too.

The winter sports enthusiast is now suddenly wearing a yellow dress, which, according to colleagues, as a "Bayern fan" he is allowed to wear this time.

Schmid is at home in Nordic combined.

The passionate cross-country skier and ski jumper was born in 1999 in Oberstdorf.

In his youth he was coached by Thomas Müller.

No, there was an Olympic champion of the same name in the discipline who later coached the youth.

Schmid is now 23 years old and celebrated his greatest success in Kuusamo, Finland: his first World Cup victory.

And synonymous with the World Cup victory was the handing over of the yellow jersey, which the World Cup leader wears.

Julian Schmid will remember the day for a long time.
