France qualified for the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup after defeating Denmark with two goals to one in the match that brought them together at Stadium 974 in the Qatari capital, Doha, in the second round of Group D.
The French team raised its score to 6 points in the lead, followed by Australia with 3 points, then Denmark and Tunisia with one point each.
The French national team seemed the most dangerous with its balls since the start of the match, so the chances of scoring were present, most notably Adrien Rabiot’s header, which was returned by Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the 21st minute, and Mbappe’s shot in the 40th minute, who shot without focus.
In the 60th minute, the French team was able to shake the net of its Danish opponent with a goal scored by Mbappe, and after eight minutes, Denmark managed to adjust the result with the goal of Andreas Christensen, while the French team returned to advance with a second goal, scored by Mbappe in the 86th minute.
France won the first round against Australia by four goals to one, while Denmark tied Tunisia without goals.
