Scorer against Denmark, Mbappé becomes the 2nd best French scorer in the World Cup

The crack of Bondy shone once again by offering his 30th goal in Blue against Denmark during this Qatari World Cup.


Kylian Mbappé scored his 30th goal for the France team against Denmark on Saturday, joining Thierry Henry as the second top French scorer in World Cup history with six units in two editions, at just 23 years old.

Thierry Henry scored six goals in four editions (1998, 2002, 2006, 2010).

Mbappé had scored four during his first participation in the 2018 World Cup, won by the Blues, then two more this year in Qatar, one against Australia (4-1), one against Denmark.

Eighth top scorer for the Blues

Just Fontaine's record, with 13 goals at the 1958 World Cup, remains unattainable for the time being.

After his goal, Mbappé is credited with 30 goals in 61 selections.

He equals the total of Just Fontaine (in 21 caps) and Jean-Pierre Papin (in 54 caps) and is on the heels of Zinedine Zidane, the current seventh best French scorer in history with 31 units.
