German national team goalkeeper Manuel Neuer achieved a historic record in the 2022 World Cup, after participating in the match against the Spanish national team in the second round of Group E.
And the Opta network, specialized in football statistics, revealed that Neuer reached the 18th match in the World Cup, equaling the record registered in the name of Brazilian Claudio Taffarel and German Sepp Meyer as the most participating goalkeeper in the World Cup competitions.
Neuer is expected to break the record as the goalkeeper who appears in the most World Cup matches, with 19 matches, if he participates mainly against the Costa Rican national team in the third round of the group stage.
Neuer, 36, participated in the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups, and currently 2022, and contributed to the Manshafts achieving the title in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil at the expense of the Argentine national team.
