That really hurts: The Bayernliga footballers from VfB Hallbergmoos lost 4-1 at Türkspor Augsburg and thus also the direct comparison.

Hallbergmoos

– The first half of the Bayernliga season was completely frustrating for VfB Hallbergmoos – and the end was telling.

The team was countered by their neighbor Türkspor Augsburg, who had the same number of points to date, lost 1:4 (0:3) and thus spent the winter in the penultimate place.

The Hallbergers must be happy that TSV 1860 Rosenheim is even worse and is stuck one point behind on the direct relegation zone.

It was the classic counterattack.

The Augsburg footballers only had to wait for the situations in which VfB Hallbergmoos wanted too much and advanced too far.

Then came the counter-attacks – and tragically every shot was a hit.

The first came in the fourth minute – and that showed what happens when you give Türkspor the space to do magic.

First keeper Dominic Dachs was played around, and instead of the shot into the empty goal there was a cross pass, so that Borna Katanic was able to carry the ball into the goal.

After a quick counterattack, Katanic made it 2-0 with a dry low shot (24th).

A symbol for the entire first half

Turgay Karvar's third goal was a symbol for the entire first half, which was pure horror for Hallbergmoos: The VfB kickers put pressure on the opposing penalty area and played a bad pass with serious consequences.

The Augsburgers quickly directed the ball forward, the goal scorer ran alone from the center line to the box and netted (32nd).

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The guests were frighteningly open defensively and far too harmless offensively.

In the duel penultimate against third from last, Hallbergmooser also had their scenes, but only very weak shots came out of them.

David Lucksch and Simon Werner stood free in front of the goal and each aimed directly at the keeper from a slightly acute angle.

That was not enough to win this trend-setting basement duel.

Tobias Krause's header comes too late

With the defeat, the Hallbergmooser men are now penultimate in the table.

This should eliminate all hopes of being able to catch up with the direct non-relegation places again after the winter break.

On this foggy and dreary Sunday afternoon in Augsburg's Haunstetten district, it was all about damage limitation - and above all about not losing the direct comparison after the 3-1 win in the first leg.

That decides at the end of the season if there is a tie on points and could therefore still be important.

With the goal of ex-Hachinger Sebastian Mitterhuber in the 83rd minute of the game, this issue was settled - and rightly so!

Even if substitute Tobias Krause scored with a head (90th), nothing changed.

Another negative side effect of the defeat was missing entry into the third qualifying round of the Bavarian Toto Cup.

The association had drawn lots that the winners of this match day would advance.
