Judo: Said Moulai will come to the Masters tournament to be held in Jerusalem Israel today

The Iranian athlete who represents Azerbaijan registered for the competition along with about 500 other representatives from 80 countries • Chairman of the union, Moshe Ponti: "a dream come true"


Preparations for the Judo Masters tournament, one of the most prestigious international events held in Israel, are in high gear, as it is estimated that over 500 athletes from about 80 countries will arrive in Jerusalem.

The event will take place in the capital city during the Hanukkah holiday, between the dates 20-22.12, at the Lottery Arena.

Among the registrants for the prestigious event so far, no less than seven sportsmen and women ranked first in the world and also the Iranian judoka Saeed Moulay, who currently represents Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the Israeli Judo Association Moshe Ponti: "Years of work is bearing fruit, this is great news and a dream come true, the most prestigious sports tournament that Israeli sports has hosted will come to Jerusalem.

The good impression that the union leaves in every tournament we host does its part, the positive echo after every competition we hold in Israel leads to a regular step up." 

"Several years ago we hosted the European Under-23 Championship here, from there we advanced to the European Senior Championship, to host the Grand Prix, two years we hosted the Grand Slam, and now we get to host the best, the 'Masters'. We are waiting for a real celebration of sports."

The Mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon: "This is another international sports event that comes to the city and adds great honor and prestige to it, the sports capital of Israel.

In recent years, our city has become a magnet for international competitions in various sports, which bring with them more and more athletes and tourists from abroad who are exposed to the beauty and uniqueness of Jerusalem.

We will continue to invest, develop and encourage sports in the city at all levels and levels.
