Alive and kicking.
After the painful loss to the Portugal team, Ghana, which came to Qatar with great expectations, finally impressed today (Monday) with a huge 2:3 victory over South Korea, at the end of a particularly dramatic and crazy game.
The first half at the City of Education Stadium was all about the Ghanaians.
In the 24th minute, a stationary ball from Jordan Eve reached after a mess in the box to the stopper Mohamed Saliso, who kicked into the net and gave the Africans a valuable lead.
Ghana continued to dominate.
Again it was Jordan Eve who lifted a superb ball into the box in the 34th minute, and this time it met directly the head of Mohamed Kodos who tapped in, and the Crystal Palace winger was also rewarded for a great game with a header.
South Korea knew that a loss would shelve their dream of advancing to the round of 16, and in the second half they found their new hero, and it wasn't the great Jung Min Son from Tottenham.
Cho Kyu Song, who plays in the local league, infiltrated behind Mohamed Salisu, and scored the Asians' first goal of the tournament in the 58th minute.
Only three minutes passed, and Cho did it again.
Jin Soo Kim collected a tremendous ball, and again the striker rose above everyone else and established an incredible 2:2 tie.
Just when all the momentum was with South Korea, Ghana came back from the grave.
Once again it was Ajax's striker - Mohamed Kodos, who out of nowhere in the 68th minute kicked in his second of the game, putting Ghana in the lead again.
The Asians did everything to score their second equalizing goal, and were very close, but in the end it is a very important victory for the Africans, who will meet Uruguay in what appears to be a battle for the eighth.
