Much more than football.
The United States and Iran are fighting this hour (Tuesday) at the Al Thumama Stadium in Qatar for the ticket to the Round of 16 in the 2022 World Cup.
The Iranians, encouraged by the dramatic 0:2 victory over Wales, want to make history and qualify for the eighth for the first time in their history.
On the other hand, the USA team, which impressed in the 0:0 draw against England, wants to continue its journey of progress - and drive another stake in world football.
In the corresponding match, the England team, which started with a storm with 2:6 against Iran, but got stuck against the Americans, will play against Wales - whose chances of qualifying for the next stage are zero.
A win would put the English in first place at home, regardless of the result between the USA and Iran - because of the goal difference.
