The filling jug hype has now reached all German fans.
Now a 16-year-old post on a fan forum about the striker has been unearthed.
Hanover – The hype surrounding Niclas Füllkrug slowly built up during the first half of the Bundesliga season, and the calls for a call-up for the 2022 World Cup grew louder. When this finally happened, the hustle and bustle surrounding the authentic centre-forward seemed to have peaked.
Since the goal by Füllkrug in the 1-1 win against Spain, you can see that an increase in that is still possible.
A post from a Hannover 96 fan forum
has now been unearthed on
Twitter , prophesying a golden future for the nine at the age of 13, including pious but initially unfulfilled wishes from the Reds.

96 fan about the filling jug: “Something can still come of it”
The fact that a 13-year-old player is given his own thread in a football fan forum is anything but normal these days, but in 2006 it must have been something even more special.
This is exactly what happened in the Hannover 96 forum, where attention was drawn to a certain Niclas Füllkrug, who at the time was still chasing goals for the youth team of Sportfreunde Ricklingen.
With reference to a linked article from
(the website is no longer available), the user Dobbo predicted a successful future for the 13-year-old jug: "Something can still come of it."
Although the entire article about the jug, which was already highly popular at the time, is no longer available, the excerpt quoted by the user at least provides information about the skills of the current DFB striker at the time.
The young jug had already scored at least 150 goals by then, after which he would have stopped counting.
According to fussball.de
, the youth team of Sportfreunde Ricklingen scored a total of 216 goals
in the 2005/06 season .
Füllkrug's path first took a detour to Hanover
Today, the post unearthed by sports journalist Moritz Cassalette is being celebrated by fans on Twitter, but if you take a look at the 96 forum, it becomes clear: The filling jug personality was already stirring people's minds back then.
It was hoped that the filling jug, who was then living in Hanover, would stay in the city and not set off into the "wide world", because, as another user reported: "Supposedly half the Bundesliga is already chasing him." In the end it wasn't the big wide world, but neither was Hannover 96. In the summer of 2006, Füllkrug switched to Werder Bremen and went through all the other youth teams up to the professional team.
It was not until ten years later, in July 2016, that Füllkrug switched to Hanover after stops at Greuther Fürth and 1. FC Nürnberg.
In 2019 he left Lower Saxony again in favor of Werder Bremen, where he has now recommended himself for the DFB team.
Incidentally, the forum post that has now appeared is not the first network discovery about Niclas Füllkrug that is currently making the rounds.
An old picture shows the striker in a somewhat strange way of preparing an Italian classic.
