The state league men of the VSG Isar-Loisach have a slump in the second set at MTV Munich III, but ultimately win confidently 3-0.

Munich/Geretsried – Always that ominous second sentence!

As in the previous week in the 3-1 win in Vaterstetten, the engine of the VSG Isar-Loisach volleyball team stuttered in round number two in the most recent state league match.

But in the end there was an ultimately sovereign 3-0 victory at MTV Munich III, and coach Nabil Habboubi took the interim turbulence on his own: "There were probably a few substitutions too many, so that our rhythm was interrupted."

A furious start for the VSG

The guests from Wolfratshausen and Geretsried started furiously against the physically inferior MTV youngsters, who were particularly at a disadvantage in terms of size.

Without the prevented Henri Biehling and Christian Leykam, they quickly pulled away from 8:4 to 16:7 to 20:10.

Last but not least, Mirko Walter contributed to the 25:14 set win with some brilliant attacks.

For the second round, coach Habboubi then brought in Lukas von Stülpnagel, Dominik Hölzl, libero Tobias Adamek and then Thorsten Busch as a setter.

It wasn't because of these players that there was a certain unrest - there were just too many changes at once.

“As a result, our block work no longer worked so well.

And the field defense wasn't so safe anymore," the coach complained.

Despite the initial lead, the guests saw themselves falling behind for the first time at 17:18.

The Munich team now sensed their chance and surpassed themselves: up to 24:24 they kept the tie, but with a show of strength the VSG brought a 26:24 victory across the finish line.

Fourth win in five matches

With that, the MTV had apparently shot its powder.

In the third round, Habboubi's protégés were in charge again and quickly pulled away to 4:0 and 12:7.

Now tactical changes worked without any problems.

The interaction between Steller Bursch and Korbinian Hölzl worked particularly well, because the middle blocker was successful with five quick attacks in a row.

In the end it was 25:14, which brought the promoted team their fourth win in their fifth match.

The VSG has thus moved up to second place in the table of the regional league south-east behind leader TSV Mühldorf II.

Next Saturday, December 3rd, the volleyball players have home advantage and have to play two games.

From 2.30 p.m., TSV Vaterstetten and TSV Unterhaching II will be guests in the old sports hall of the Geretsried high school.
