On February 3, 2023, the Dead Sea Marathon will be launched for the fourth time, undoubtedly the running competition that takes place at the lowest place in the world and is going to host runners from all over the world.
Nir Wenger, head of the Tamar Regional Council, on whose territory the sporting event will take place, sounded satisfied: "The shortest marathon in the world, on its spectacular routes, is the council's flagship event, which attracts the interest of runners from all over the country and the world. I hope that records will be broken."

The running competition will be divided into several categories, starting with a five kilometer race, through the main race at a distance of 42 kilometers and up to the ultra marathon at a distance of 50 kilometers.
The highlight of the race is running into the Dead Sea on an embankment that forms the border between the Israeli Dead Sea and the Jordanian Dead Sea.
