Max Kruse sharply criticized the DFB and national coach Flick.

The former international complains about the lack of a performance principle.

Munich – Max Kruse is known for not mincing his words.

For this he is loved by many fans.

Because he has class as a player but also makes headlines off the pitch,

once called Kruse “the last guy” in an article.

In his podcast he now spoke sharply about the DFB, national coach Hansi Flick and the 2022 World Cup.

What Kruse, who had recently terminated his contract with VfL Wolfsburg, now allowed himself, is certainly not a scandal, but is typically Kruse in its clarity.

The 34-year-old criticized that the German national team has not had a performance principle for a long time.

"It's been like this for years and it's not changing now.

It doesn't matter as much whether you're in the juice or not, but rather the CV you have in the national team," said Kruse in his podcast

with comedian Oliver Pocher.

As an example, Kruse named Bremen's Niclas Füllkrug and Mario Götze from Eintracht Frankfurt, whose nomination for the DFB World Cup squad was rather surprising.

Both had shown very strong performances in their clubs this season, said Kruse, but they didn't get enough time in the national team.

While Füllkrug was substituted on at least twice and scored the 1-1 draw for Germany against Spain, Götze only managed eleven minutes against Japan.

In his opinion, Füllkrug in particular should be given more playing time.

(Schedule for the 2022 World Cup) Kruse even advocated bringing Füllkrug in the decisive World Cup group game against Costa Rica from the start.

"If not now then when?

That's my opinion," said the ex-Wolfsburger.

Oliver Bierhoff and Jürgen Klinsmann would also like to have a filling pitcher in the starting XI.
