Tens of thousands took to the streets today (Thursday) in major cities in Morocco and Europe to celebrate the qualification of the Moroccan national team to the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup. The Atlas Lions did it for the second time in their history and the first since 1986.
Morocco was drawn into a tough house on paper with Croatia and Belgium, the teams that finished the previous World Cup in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
But like 36 years ago, when they finished in first place at home with England, Poland and Portugal - this time too they celebrated at the expense of the Europeans with the summit, after the 1:2 victory over Canada.
In a few hours, Walid Ragraghi and his players will know who they will play against in the next round, and it is unlikely that it will be Germany again.
At the end of the game, the players celebrated for many minutes on the grass, among other things with Palestinian flags.
Shawn Weissman's Real Valladolid teammate, Jawad El Yamik, also waved a flag.
