Also this weekend, the "Miners" can fully exhaust themselves, as they only play one game.

But that will be an extremely demanding task.

Peißenberg

– Only one game on the first weekend in Advent, and on the second there is only one game for the Bavarian league ice hockey team TSV Peißenberg.

However, the guest appearance this Friday (December 2nd) at EHC Königsbrunn (8 p.m.) is tough.

Both teams are tied for second and third place.

Even the first leg against Königsbrunn was extremely competitive

"Königsbrunn is one of the top teams in the league," says "Miners" coach Stefan Ihsen, looking forward to this top game in front of what is probably a stately crowd.

"I think there will also be many Peißenberg fans there.

The team really appreciates this support,” said Ihsen.

The "Miners" can also use the loud support of the fans, because after the 3:6 defeat in the first leg in Peißenberg, Königsbrunn will go into the second leg highly motivated.

"The game was very close and not as clear as the result," Ihsen recalls of his team's two empty-net goals in the final phase, when, from their point of view, the Koenigsbrunn team put everything on one card at a score of 3: 4 and had taken their goalkeeper off the field in favor of another outfield player.

Königsbrunn top scorer Sternheimer was voted "Player of the Month".

In the first duel between the two clubs from both teams six weeks ago, Königsbrunner Marco Sternheimer (24), who is the best scorer in the EHC, was missing.

With 33 points, the former DEL player for the Augsburg Panthers ranks second on the scorer list in the Bavarian league together with Peißenberg's Dominic Krabbat.

Only Dylan Hood (34) from Schweinfurt, who was voted “Player of the Month” in November by the online portal “Bayernhockey”, is better than these two.

Peißenberg and Königsbrunn with outstanding goalkeepers

Despite the prominent striker in the ranks of the Königsbrunner, Peißenberg's coach does not freeze in awe of the opponent.

"We also have good people," says Ihsen.

After all, ice hockey is a team sport, "it's about the team and not about an individual".

However, Ihsen is well aware that strong individual players, including goalkeeper Stefan Vajs in addition to Sternheimer, spent many years with the DEL2 club ESV Kaufbeuren and between 2007 and 2009 also once with EC Peiting.

can steer a game in one direction or the other.

Peißenberg's coach Stefan Ihsen expects a hard-fought duel

As far as the goalkeeper position is concerned, the "Miners" really don't need to hide.

With Korbinian Sertl they also have an exceptional player between the posts.

"It will be a game of equals, but we will certainly find ways to win it," said Ihsen, who expects a hotly contested duel this time as well.

A small advantage for Peißenberg, who can also play with the best players: In contrast to Königsbrunn, they don't need to save any energy because they don't have a game on Sunday.
