An encouraging message.
Brazilian soccer legend Pele thanked last night (Thursday) in a post on Instagram all his fans who prayed for his safety, and for their wishes after his recent hospitalization in Sao Paulo due to his battle with cancer.
The 82-year-old Pele, known as one of the greatest players of all time, posted a photo in which his face was projected onto a building in Qatar, alongside a message asking for a speedy recovery.
"Guys, I'm at the hospital for my monthly visit," he wrote.
"It's always nice to receive such positive messages. Thanks to Qatar for this gesture, and to everyone who sends me messages."
On Tuesday, Pele was admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo, and according to reports the chemotherapy is not responding and he is hospitalized with swelling all over his body, in addition to congestive heart failure.
Pele's arrival at the hospital was unplanned and "the situation is alarming," the report said.
Pele, who led Brazil to World Cup titles - 1958, 1962 and 1970 - has suffered health problems in recent years, but remains active on social media.
Last month, he said he hoped to see Brazil's national team win the World Cup.
