Only one game was played tonight (between Thursday and Friday) in the NBA, but even that didn't stop the league from providing another particularly exciting night.

The Dallas Mavericks (11:10), who came after a home win over Golden State, recorded their fifth loss in the last six games when they surrendered 131:125 to the Detroit Pistons (18:6) after overtime.

The Texans were looking for just their second win in nine games away from Dallas, but an even first half saw the locals run out to a double-digit lead.

The guest didn't say desperate, and a 2:11 run with three consecutive three-pointers gave her a turnaround with about eight minutes left until the buzzer.

In the absence of the injured Cade Cunningham who may be out for a long period of time, Killian Hayes took the reins in the Pistons' back line, and did not disappoint.

The French center scored three consecutive baskets for the host from the bottom of the league and established a nine-point advantage with three minutes left, but a basket by Luka Doncic and a three-pointer by Reggie Bullock with 22 seconds left tied the game.

Isiah Stewart missed at the buzzer, and the game went into overtime after being tied at 117.

The young Pistons celebrated.

Doncic stormed off the extra five minutes with two baskets, but tied at 125 minutes and a quarter to go, Hayes woke up with two consecutive three-pointers that closed the story.

The Mavericks go down to a negative balance and 8:1 away, the Pistons interrupt a streak of three consecutive losses.

Bojan Bogandovic led the winner with 30 points, Hayes added 22 and 8 assists.

Doncic stood out on the other hand with 35 points and 10 assists, Tim Hardaway Jr. added 26 and Christian Wood contributed 25 against the former.
