After initial difficulties, TSV Erding wins 9:3 against penultimate EV Pegnitz.

Erding – In the end it was still a befitting victory.

The Erding Gladiators had problems with EV Pegnitz for 30 minutes, but then put the Ice Dogs on a leash and finally scored a clear 9:3 (3:1, 3:2, 3:0) against the penultimate table.

It was really the last squad that Erding's team boss Felix Schütz could send onto the ice, with just 15 field players.

Making his debut was Czech signing Tomas Plihal, who was unlucky after 86 seconds when he hit the inside post and the puck stayed on the line before goalkeeper Filip Rieger got hold of him.

The Gladiators were clearly superior but then fell behind when Roman Navarra found the shot with a low shot (7').

But just 50 seconds later, Daniel Krzizok equalized.

Now the pressure from the hosts increased and with a double strike they seemed to be on the road to victory early on.

Outnumbered, Plihal extended a shot by Roni Rukajärvi from the air to make it 2-1 (13 ') and 84 seconds later Mark Waldhausen, who played up front this time, made it 3-1.

Krzizok opened the middle third with a shot at the inside of the post after 60 seconds and it seemed to be going lopsided.

But then the gladiators ran usury, which should take revenge.

Outnumbered, Patrik Dzemla shortened the lead to 2:3 (30th minute) and only 73 seconds later Oleg Seibel made it 3:3 after a tumult in front of the goal.

But then the hosts stepped up their game again.

Rukajärvi put the Gladiators back ahead just 97 seconds after equalizing with a majority, and just 84 seconds later a Waldhausen goal made it 5-3.

But then the hosts got reckless and fortunate the Ice Dogs failed to convert two first-rate chances.

Waldhausen then calmed the nerves of the Gladiators fans with the 6:3 (40th).

In the third third, the Ice Dogs then had nothing to oppose the Gladiators.

Waldhausen and Krzizok within just 31 seconds (47th) and Erik Modlmayr (49th) scored a 9:3 win that was also deserved at altitude.
