Summary: Maccabi Haifa - Hapoel Tel Aviv 2:5 (Sport1)
Maccabi Haifa will play its first match at the training camp in Greece today
(Friday, 14:45, live
on Sport2) when it will meet Risas Heraklis from the country's second division.
The main goal of the camp is to get the players back in shape and energized, and in Haifa we positively noted the first training session on Greek soil.
Shortly before the first preseason game, the Greens announced that the team's goalkeeper Josh Cohen went for a series of tests in Israel and abroad following a shoulder injury from which he is suffering. The goalkeeper has undergone treatments and strengthening at the site of the injury in recent months, and during the break the tests revealed that the condition had worsened. Cohen will win to rest in the near future.
"There is a good atmosphere, we really needed this break," testified a player in the team, "but the truth is that everyone already wants to return and the task at the moment is single and that is to win a championship."
Coach Barak Becher also spoke ahead of the rest of the camp: "I feel that everyone came back with good energy. Everyone needed this break and there is madness and hunger in everyone. We came to the camp to work, there are many things to accomplish. We finished in first place in the first round but we feel that we can To do things better and we demand of ourselves to do things better."

Fitness coach Dror Shimshon also spoke and said: "We knew there was light at the end of the tunnel at the beginning of the season, which was the World Cup break, it came to us like air to breathe. We started the season with many games and at a high pace and the break came on time. Now we will start to rise for the next journey. Both physically and Mentally, we reached the peak with the success in the league and the Champions League, but we controlled the break so that players do not come from scratch and arrive ready for the tasks."
Fitness coach Uri Harel, who worked closely with some of the players during the break, also explained: "We don't expect a big drop, there was a full week of break and a week of active break. Our thought was that fitness would be affected as little as possible."
Maccabi Haifa's second preparatory game in the camp, against Aris Thessaloniki, will be broadcast this Sunday at 18:30 on Sport3.
