The HSG Freising-Neufahrn asks the TV Altötting for a chase duel - and could take the lead in the table with support from Eching.

District

– If everything goes perfectly for the handball players of HSG Freising-Neufahrn on this match day, they will be the new leaders in the district league.

In the worst case, they are then four minus points behind and are only third.

The HSG, which currently has a balance of 15:3 points and is in second place, will host BOL third-placed TV Altötting (12:2) on Sunday (4.30 p.m., Luitpoldanlage sports hall).

Also decisive for the future starting position is the game of SC Eching, who asks the current leaders ASV Dachau (15:1) to dance on Saturday at 5.30 p.m. in the hall on Dietersheimer Straße.

HSG trainer Erik Brasko considers the Altöttinger to be a very unpleasant opponent: "They mostly stayed together after being relegated from the state league.

And they defend in the 5:1 formation that we don't like." Therefore, a lot of movement is required in the attacking game, which has not yet worked optimally for the men from Freising-Neufahrn.

Problem: Playmaker Tobias Kapser is still ailing, and Andras Falkner and Christian Heldner are even threatened with failure.

Instead, regular goalkeeper Andreas Meßner returns to the squad.

SC Eching not at its best

Coach Brasko also demands that his team engage in more duels.

First and foremost he means Michael Schuster, Korbinian Herrmann or Ernad Huzejrovic.

There is no favorite: "It's a game at eye level."

SCE trainer Thomas Gentgen speaks of a "very simple task" and laughs.

But joking aside: “Dachau is of course the clear favourite.

I think they're even stronger than Freising-Neufahrn.” The goal is to develop your own fast game.

"Only the opponent wants that too," fears Gentgen.

The withdrawal behavior is therefore extremely important.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

However, the Echinger cannot compete in the best cast.

Jeffrey Michler is sure to be out, and Laurenz Reichert is also unable to take part for personal reasons.

There is still a question mark behind goalkeeper Robin Jahn.

However, the SCE coach sees an advantage: "The people from Dachau are used to playing with resin at home, which is forbidden here." Therefore, the guests could have problems with distance throws.

Outsider yes, but by no means without a chance - that's how Thomas Gentgen sees the starting position against the BOL leader.

SG Moosburg fights for points to stay up

Meanwhile, the Moosburg handball men want to get important points in the fight for staying up in the league on Saturday at SSG Metten.

Start is at 5 p.m.

The narrow away win last matchday was good for self-confidence - and that's why coach Otto Holländer emphasizes: "We're not going to Metten to leave the counters there." But he knows about the small hall, where there is always a heated atmosphere.

"Nobody likes going there, they're brutally strong at home."

How good the chances are for the SGM will also depend on whether the SSG can muster their strong Czechs.

Recently, that hasn't always been the case.

But the cornerstone of success is the defence: "We have to be better at that," demands Holländer.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Raspe is back.

But Marco Stütgens and Tobias Stuckenberger are out.
