The Tölzer Löwen clearly dominate against Füssen, have 48:16 shots on goal - and lose 2:4 against the Allgäuer and Hötzinger.

Bad Tölz – It was four minutes that turned the game upside down.

Until the second third, the Tölzer Löwen had the game against EV Füssen completely under control.

It seemed to be something of a walk for the Tölzer Löwen: 2-0 after ten minutes thanks to well-played goals in the first and second rows.

But after almost half an hour, small mistakes crept in and the door to the penalty box opened for Tölz: With two powerplay goals and Lukas Slavetinsky in the follow-up shot, the guests suddenly turned the game around completely.

Despite a great effort, the hosts were unable to regain victory on Friday evening.

The lions lost 4-2.

46 attempts are in vain

"It's happened more than once that we give up a game after taking the lead," complains coach Ryan Foster, who is really disappointed in his team for the first time.

"We let it slip through our own mistakes." He lacked concentration after the 2-0 lead.

Afterwards, a better player was always sought for the degrees, a better position was played, the degrees were too complicated.

"There is a lack of consistency in front of the box," complains Foster.

First impressive, then unfocused

The lions initially impressed with good speed, uncompromising commitment and good attacks.

The parade series in particular put immense pressure on Füssen's keeper Benedikt Hötzinger.

Ludwig Nirschl, Tyler Ward and Nick Huard performed as a unit, playing feet at will.

48 shots on goal speak for themselves.

But the opponent handed 16 attempts to victory.

The sack not closed

The lions lost the game in the first third due to wrong decisions and bad chances.

They could have easily closed the sack with two or three more goals.

But Nirschl missed the target, Huard didn't always hit the target, Timo Sticha wasn't consistent enough, Ward was often unlucky.

Füssen goalie thwarts angry attacks

After the first change, mistakes crept in, the duels against stronger emerging Füsseners were lost more often.

The goals came within four minutes.

Foster took a break.

If the Allgäu could hardly get through the safe Tölz defense before, it was easier now.

If the Füsseners previously lacked offensive ideas, they now tried counterattacks.

In the first third, many passes went nowhere, but the EVF now brought the disc forward more safely.

Despite the clear superiority, the lions were behind.

"Admittedly, a lucky win, Tölz was clearly superior, decisive in the game," concedes guest coach Janne Kujala.

“But we got into the game for a short time and then the outstanding Hötzinger secured victory for us.

We are happy to take the three points with us.” The goalie from Füssen thwarted all Tölz attempts to

growing in anger and intensity.

"In the final section I can't blame the team," says Foster.

But nothing came of it, not even when Josef Hölzl left his goal long before the end: Neudecker scored into the empty goal to make it 4:2 and Tölz fell back to seventh place.
