Milwaukee (6:15) - LA Lakers (12:9) 133:129

After a terrible start to the season, tonight's win, perhaps more than any other, shows that the Lakers may be on the right track after all.

Khris Middleton made his season debut for the Bucks after returning from injury, but that really didn't stop Anthony Davis from doing whatever he wanted in the paint.

The guest took the lead by 15 in the second quarter, but at halftime the gap was reduced to only six.

The Bucks didn't let their opponent get away, and with about five minutes to go, they finally took the lead.

An important 3-pointer by LeBron James and a basket by Davis in the paint gave the Lakers a lead towards the end, and with a three with about five seconds to go, Jaro Holiday missed for Milwaukee and Davis closed the story from the line.

Davis recorded a monstrous game of 44 points and 10 rebounds, James added 28 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds.

Russell Westbrook contributed 15 points and 11 assists off the bench, but more importantly - zero turnovers.

40 points for Giannis Antetokounmpo on the other hand, 17 for Middleton in the return game.

Boston (5:18) - Miami (12:11) 120:116 (after overtime)

Only two days after the last meeting between them, Miami got revenge for the loss in the Eastern Conference finals, and yesterday, stopping the Celtics who won 14 of their last 15 games.

An important basket by Jimmy Butler gave the Heat a 105:108 advantage with 36 seconds to go, Jayson Tatum cinched in a dunk.

Butler thought he was closing the story with a basket five seconds to the buzzer, but with two seconds to go, Jaylen Brown responded with a tremendous 3-pointer that made it 110:110 and overtime.

In the next five minutes, the visitor came to his senses, and a basket by Butler nine seconds to the end established a four-point lead that effectively closed the story.

Bam Adebayo led the scorers of the winner with 28 points, Tyler Hero added 26 and Butler scored 25. 37 points and 14 rebounds for Brown in a wonderful display on the other hand, Tatum scored only 14 but collected 12 rebounds.

Draymond Green responded with a critical three-pointer, Klay Thompson closed the story.

The Texans were already behind by 16 points in the third quarter, but managed to come back quickly and took the lead with five minutes to go.

Kevin Porter Jr. gave the Rockets a 6-point lead with a minute and a half to go, but Devin Booker and Cameron Payne tied it with shots from outside the arc.

The host started off great and even took a 16-point lead before the break, but in the third quarter Jamal Murray woke up and the Nuggets erased the entire gap.

Bruce Brown reduced the score to 106:103, but three baskets by Murray and another unanswered by Griffin set up a home victory.

Murray of the Hawks starred with 34 points, Griffin with 24. Jokic with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

Cleveland (8:15) - Orlando (18:5) 96:107

After a tight first half, the host ran away in the third quarter and the weak Magic were unable to pose a threat.

Donovan Mitchell stood out with 34 points, Owen Mobley with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Paolo Bancro, the No. 1 pick in the last draft, led the losers with 22.

The hosts were without Gregg Popovich due to a medical procedure, but since "Pop" was appointed to the position in 1996, this is the first time that San Antonio has fallen into a ten-game losing streak.

A great first half by the Jazz gave them an impressive win against the Pacers.
