Tiktukno: summary of the day's events in sports, 30.11 (Sport1)
Pele has been hospitalized since Wednesday and now reports of a dramatic decline in his condition.
In the last two days, the hospital in Sao Paulo announced that the situation is stable and Pele is under observation due to a respiratory infection, but now Brazil claims that there has been an alarming deterioration because the legendary former soccer player, who has been dealing with cancer in recent years, is not responding to the chemotherapy treatment.
According to the newspaper Polia de São Paulo, the chemotherapy stopped providing the expected results in the treatment of the colon cancer from which Pela suffers, and in the hospital they switched to palliative care - nursing care to prevent suffering that includes pain reduction and breathing assistance only.
In September 2021, Pele underwent surgery to remove a tumor in the large intestine and since then he has been in and out of hospitals on a fairly regular basis.
Upon his release from intensive care a little over a year ago, Fella, who has difficulty walking, joked and wrote on social media: "I'm ready for 90 minutes and more. My friends, this message is for each of you. Don't think for a minute that I haven't read the thousands of messages I've received. Thank you to each of you, who dedicate one day of your life to send me positive energy."

The 82-year-old Pele is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the game, with three World Cup wins at the top of his list of achievements (1970, 1962, 1958).
As of today, Pele is the all-time top scorer of the Selecao with 77 goals, with Neymar in second place with 75 goals.
Pele's numbers are unimaginable - 1,281 goals in 1,363 games.
No less than 92 times in his career he scored a hat-trick, in 30 cases he scored four and in six different cases he scored five.
At Santos, the team where he played for almost his entire career, every year on November 19, they celebrate "Pele Day", the day the legend scored his 1,000th goal in the club's uniform.
After retirement, Pele became an ambassador for football.
He reached the remotest places in the world to spread the gospel of the game to children and dedicated his life to charitable actions.
"I have the responsibility to show the kids how to be football players, but also how to be human beings," he said previously.
