Amidst an enthusiastic atmosphere and strong competition, the competitions of the Republic Championship for martial arts clubs and houses concluded with the sport of Taekwondo for men, women, and young men and women, organized by the Martial Arts Union in Al-Jalaa Sports Hall in Damascus, with the participation of seventy male and female players representing clubs, sports bodies, and training centers practicing the game.
The results of the men’s category resulted in the Central Police Club winning first place with four gold, four silver and four bronze medals, followed by the Lattakia Training Center with one gold and three bronze medals, then the Sehnaya Club with one gold and one bronze.
In the youth category, Al-Wathba Club came first with four golds, one silver and three bronzes, followed by the Kenitra Center with one silver and two bronzes, and the third place was shared by the Central Police and Tartous Police with one silver and one bronze each.
Al-Wathba also won first place in the women’s category with two golds, two silvers and one bronze, followed by Tartous Police with one gold, one silver and five bronzes, while Tartous Police won first place in the young women’s category with three golds and three bronzes, followed by Al-Wathba with two silvers and three bronzes, then the Lattakia Center with one silver.
In a statement to SANA, the Vice President of the Martial Arts Federation, Ziyad Ibrahim, explained that the tournament was successful at all technical, organizational, arbitration and administrative levels, pointing out that the tournament is an opportunity to highlight promising talents that could be the mainstay of the national team in the upcoming events.
The head of the Supreme Technical Committee for the game, Maad Ward, indicated that the tournament was held within the framework of the Federation of Martial Arts plan for the current year, and witnessed a wide participation of clubs, bodies and training centers practicing the game, indicating that the technical level of the players was at the level of the event, and was distinguished through the results by many new faces that They will receive the required attention, to be the nucleus of our national teams.
It is noteworthy that this tournament is the last for the Federation of Martial Arts for the current year, as the Federation will organize the rest of its activities this month, represented by holding training and arbitration courses in the sport of Quwat Al-Rami and Kyokushinkai.
