After eight wins in a row, HCD Gröbenzell got hit in the last home game of the old year.

Gröbenzell

– At the start of the second half of the season, the team coached by Stefan Weidinger and Harald Fischer lost 26:30 (12:17 ) gates.

And next Saturday, the Gröbis will be in the hall at TSV Haunstetten (throw-on is at 6 p.m.).

It is the team that inflicted HCD's only defeat of the season so far in the first half of the season.

"We imagined it differently today," said the hall spokesman after the 60 minutes.

It was particularly exciting in the second round, when the game threatened to tip over in favor of Gröbis.

But: "We didn't play what we can do," said Fischer after the game.

"We knew it was going to be difficult.

We lacked precision in front of the opposing goal today.”

And coach Weidinger said: "We completely slept through the first half today.

In addition, the defense was a disaster this time.

Unfortunately, the mistakes were repeated in the second round.”

The Gröbis got off to a good start and quickly gained a 3-0 lead.

But the guests from Württemberg were relatively unimpressed.

Led by returnee Sina Ehmann, who needs match practice for the second division team, Göppingen made up for the deficit and even took the lead.

When the score was 9:13 for the guests, Weidinger took a break.

However, this did not really bring an improvement in the Gröbis game.

When the half-time break sounded, HCD found themselves chasing a five-goal deficit.

And things got even worse for the Gröbis.

Hardly back on the plate, Göppingen pulled away to 21:14.

So the HCD headed for a clear defeat.

Weidinger had to talk his girls into their conscience again.

But then, despite the negative record backdrop, there was a mood in the hall.

The Gröbis caught up hit after hit.

The guests allowed themselves a slack and the Gröbis were now wide awake.

17 minutes before the end, the HCD had made up the gap to one goal (21:22).

The hall trembled.

There was still something for the HCD.

Unfortunately, careless and hasty playback errors crept in at the Gröbis again and again.

Göppingen survived HCD's period of pressure and turned into Siegerstraße five minutes before the end when the lead had been extended to five goals.

That was enough for the second division reserve to finally win.
