Just as Senegal got into the game better, England scored. Harry Kane scored his first goal at this World Cup, Bukayo Saka his third. But the best player was the Dortmund Jew Bellingham.

England are in the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Qatar after beating Senegal 3-0 (2-0).

There, the Three Lions meet archrival France, who had previously prevailed against Poland.

Jordan Henderson (39th minute), Harry Kane (45th + 3rd) and Bukayo Saka (57th) scored the goals for England's round of 16 success.

The English dominated the game early on, spinning the ball around and patiently trying to break through the Senegalese defence.

They were initially unsuccessful, instead Senegal repeatedly became dangerous with quick transitions.

Senegal had their first chance after a bad pass from England centre-back Harry Maguire, who played into the feet of Youssouf Sabaly.

The ball found its way to Boulaye Dia, who shot John Stones.

Ismaïla Sarr hit the rebound over the goal from a few meters (22nd).

The African champions got better and better into the game and increasingly forced the English to make mistakes.

England's Bukayo Saka lost the ball to Sarr, who thoughtfully cleared Dia.

England keeper Jordan Pickford watched and parried (32').

Henderson strike shocks Senegal

The Senegalese dared more and more and advanced further, the holes in the defense became correspondingly large.

England took advantage of that.

A pass in depth got to Dortmund's Jude Bellingham, who asserted himself on the left and laid flat back to Jordan Henderson.

The Liverpool professional completed from twelve meters without any problems (39th).

The goal shocked the Senegalese, who couldn't manage an orderly attack afterwards.

Instead, the English followed suit.

Bellingham, who was very present in midfield, stuck through to Phil Foden, who crossed to Harry Kane.

Kane finished powerfully and scored his first goal at this World Cup (45th + 3rd).

In the second half, Senegal failed to put the serious English under pressure.

Instead, the Three Lions continued, Foden served Saka in the penalty area, who used the disorder in the Senegalese defense to score his third World Cup goal (57th).

The English didn't have any problems even without Raheem Sterling, who was absent for family reasons, and were very variable in attack.

England were safe at the back, Senegal didn't get through decisively.

England continue on Saturday at 8 p.m. with the duel against France.

The two teams have only met twice at World Cups, in 1966 and 1982. Both times England prevailed.

Senegal, on the other hand, missed their second World Cup quarterfinals after 2002.
