Croatia prevailed dramatically against Japan in the World Cup Round of 16.
Afterwards, ZDF commentator Claudia Neumann surprised with an unusual statement.
Munich – It was a dramatic 120 minutes that played out between Japan and Croatia in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup.
It was 1-1 in regulation time after the Croatians equalized in the 55th minute through Ivan Perisic.
Daizen Maeda had given the Blues Samurai the lead in the first half.

Croatia then won the penalty shoot-out thanks to keeper Dominik Livakovic, who saved three penalties and thus shattered Japan's dream of playing in a World Cup quarter-finals for the first time.
The Japanese eliminated the DFB team in Group E.
After the gripping game between Japan and Croatia, ZDF commentator Claudia Neumann surprised with an exuberant statement.
The 58-year-old first thanked co-commentator Hanno Balitsch, who gave his opinion on Neumann's side for 120 minutes.
"Hanno, thank you very much for your expertise.
We're wrapping up here now," says Neumann, pointing out that the round of 16 between Japan and Croatia was the last game at the Al-Janoub Stadium in Al-Wakrah.
She then announced the second World Cup round of 16 on Monday.

"We are also looking forward to the evening game between Brazil and South Korea," said Neumann and then became exuberant: "With Béla Réthy, the best colleague in the world." Why she celebrated the commentator legend so much and why Réthy is so popular with her stands is not known.
But Neumann didn't want to stop with the superlatives.
"Then back to the studio first," said the commentator, who is not loved by all football fans: "Back to the best experts in the world, Jochen Breyer, Per Mertesacker and Chris Kramer."
