Will Pelé be released from hospital soon?

According to the football legend's two daughters, the 82-year-old Brazilian's state of health does not present any "risk".

They hope and are even hopeful of a return home of the former Santos player, hospitalized since Tuesday.

Pelé “is sick, he is old, but at the moment he is hospitalized with a lung infection.

And when he is better, he will come home, ”assured his daughter Kely Nascimento, in an interview with the Brazilian channel Globo.

This lung infection is due to contamination with Covid-19 contracted three weeks ago.

"He's not in an intensive care unit, he's in a normal room.

He is not at risk, he is in treatment, ”added his sister Flavia Arantes.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento had been admitted to Albert-Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo for a reassessment of his treatment for colon cancer.

His respiratory infection is "treated with antibiotics", the doctors said.

The hospital announced on Saturday that his condition was "stable" and that he was responding well to the treatment given to him to combat his illness.

The hospital's communications department made the same observation to AFP on Sunday.

The former Seleçao star herself said on Saturday that she felt "strong and full of hope".

Her two daughters also denied rumors on Sunday of a deterioration in her state of health and are "tired of receiving condolences", insisted Flavia Arantes to the Globo channel.
