Günther Steiner became a star almost overnight in the Netflix series “Drive to Surive”.
Now the Haas team boss wants to summarize the 2022 season in one book!
South Tyrol – The documentary series “Drive to Survive” about Formula 1, its drivers and teams has been running on Netflix since 2019.
Haas team boss Günther Steiner was always particularly well received by Formula 1 fans.
But especially in Germany, his popularity has decreased somewhat after the Schumacher-Hülkenberg drama.
Steiner would now like to summarize the 2022 season in a book and describe his view of things!
With the title "Surviving to Drive", the South Tyrolean is of course alluding to the popular Netflix series.
He now wants to write the book about the winter months, "I don't think I could have chosen a more eventful year than this to document some of the things that you have to go through as a team boss in Formula 1".
Steiner never actually kept a diary, "I'm more of a person who looks ahead, but it was still fun to think about the events again, about all the ups and downs that Haas F1 experienced."
Günther Steiner doesn't mince his words
Of course, it will also be about Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher.
"I hope people will enjoy learning more behind the scenes - and I hope they'll join us for the next hot ride as we build on the good work to have a more successful season in 2023," said the Haas team principal .
The book is slated for release in April 2023, around the same time as Drive to Survive Season 5!
In recent years, Steiner has already made good use of its popularity for marketing purposes.
The Haas racing team has been decorating the merch in the shop for a while with sentences like “we look like a group of heroes”.
Right at the beginning of the release of the merch, the site's server crashed because too many fans wanted to go to the shop at the same time.
No wonder, then, that another book is to come that will probably contain as many catchy quotes as the Netflix series.
