He is reportedly in the palliative care unit but has now turned himself in.

He himself gives updates on his state of health

In the latest announcement from the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, the treating doctors reported on Saturday that they were in a “stable state of health”.

There would be "no deterioration in the last 24 hours".

The diagnosis remains respiratory infection.

Also on Saturday, however, the well-known newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo wrote that chemotherapy for the colon cancer discovered in September 2021 was no longer effective, the metastases had long since spread to the lungs and liver, and the doctors were only able to take palliative measures, i.e. painkillers use medication remained.

Pelé went to the hospital on Tuesday.

Initially, it said it was on schedule to reset his medication and evaluate chemotherapy.

Since then, the world association FIFA at the World Cup in Qatar as well as many current and former football stars have been asking for prayers for “Rei Pele”, the king of footballers.

The footballer Kaka, among others, wrote under Pelé's post: "We continue to pray, king".

Brazil's ex-world champion Rivaldo also reported to the short message service.

"Be strong, king," tweeted the 50-year-old.

In Qatar, Brazil national coach Tite had previously wished the 82-year-old only the best on behalf of the entire team.

Things get serious for Brazil on December 5th when they play the round of 16 against South Korea at 8pm.
