VfB Hallbergmoos changes head coach during the winter break.

Matthias Strohmaier goes, his previous assistant coach Florian Brachtel takes over.

Hallbergmoos - That's it.

After ten points from 21 games, VfB Hallbergmoos and coach Matthias Strohmaier (28) have parted ways.

Assistant coach Florian Brachtel (28) has been promoted to the new head coach.

One of the decisive factors was probably the last impression before the winter break, which marked the absolute low point of a horror autumn round.

Küchle on the change of coach: "Both sides came to the decision that the separation is better"

The Bayernliga penultimate Hallbergmoos had previously been competitive in the 1-1 draws against Schwaben Augsburg and Nördlingen.

However, the 4-1 loss at table neighbor Türkspor Augsburg was like a heavy concrete block that finally brought down the already shaky VfB foundation.

Powerless and emotionless, the Hallbergmoosers were once more victims than opponents.

It was already clear then that things couldn't go on like this.

Coach Matthias Strohmaier and VfB Hallbergmoos have now agreed to prematurely terminate the contract that is due to expire next summer.

There have been moments of frustration at Strohmaier throughout this season.

In the fan club in particular, there was a fear that the coach might give up himself.

However, sporting director Anselm Küchle is not a man of quick shots, and that is why he kept calm until the winter break.

The coach was accommodated with the suspension of four players, but after the last game they sat down to take stock.

"Both sides came together to the decision that the separation is better," says Küchle.

"We went through fire for each other and also developed as a footballer," sums up the outgoing coach.

He took over VfB

when he was back in the national league with one leg.

In the second half of the season, however, Hallbergmoos was one of the best teams in the league - with this momentum they managed to stay up in the relegation.

After the final stroke on the Söldnermoos, the 28-year-old wants to gain some distance before planning his future path.

The defender is considered a talented coach who could make the leap to the professional level in a few years.

VfB Hallbergmoos: Brachtel has only played eight games as interim coach in the men's division so far

The future of VfB Hallbergmoos is now called Florian Brachtel.

“Now is the time for him,” says Küchle.

The new head coach has been an assistant coach since Strohmaier took office.

Now the ex-player, who was active for Wacker Burghausen and SpVgg Unterhaching, can take the next step.

He gained his first experience as a coach at SV Dornach, where he was temporarily responsible for a few games.

Later he was youth coach in Hallbergmoos.

"I knew early on that coaching was my path," Brachtel is certain.

He was a bit surprised by the developments in the club.

"It's a double-edged sword right now because I worked very well with Matthias Strohmaier.

That's why the change of coach is sad.

But the promotion is confirmation of my four years of work in Hallbergmoos.”

Florian Brachtel should initiate the turnaround at VfB.

Küchle promises the fans a coach who will bring a breath of fresh air into the team.

With the 28-year-old Brachtel, VfB still has the youngest coach in the Bayernliga.

He announced that he would seek communication with the experienced players and that the way out of the crisis was not a one-man show.

"It's not about me, it's about the team - and above all about the club."

VfB Hallbergmoos: Another relegation seems inevitable

The new coach starts the winter preparation on January 9th.

In the spring round it is important to defend the one point lead over bottom 1860 Rosenheim in order to avoid direct relegation.

Brachtel responds with a quote from the cult coach Urs Fischer from Union Berlin about a possible race to catch up in the direction of direct relegation: “Dreams must be allowed.

But you have to know when.”

VfB Hallbergmoos is now looking for a new assistant coach.

Changes in the squad cannot be ruled out either, until January 9th when it's back to the training ground.

At the restart on March 3rd against TSV 1860 Munich II, VfB should be competitive again.
