The Benfica striker became the first player in history to score a hat-trick for his first World Cup start since Germany's Miroslav Klose in 2002.

Pepe (33rd), Raphaël Guerreiro (55th) and Rafael Leão (90th+2) also put their names on the scoreboard.

The Nati had reduced the gap by Manuel Akanji on a corner (58th).
