officially.
Eden Hazard retired today (Wednesday) from the Belgium national team at the age of only 31.
Hazard is considered one of Belgium's greatest footballers of the last generation and made 126 media appearances in which he scored 33 goals and added another 36 assists.
Already after the early elimination in the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar about a week ago, his retirement was in the air and today, as mentioned, he announced it on social media.
"I have decided to end my international career. The next generation is ready. Thank you for all the support and the beautiful moments we have shared together since 2008. I will miss you very much," wrote Hazard, who will now try to restore his career, after three bad years at Real Madrid.
The winger bought by the Blancos from Chelsea for about 100 million euros, has suffered a few injuries in recent seasons, has not been able to recover his ability from the days in the Premier League, but still receives a certain amount of trust from Carlo Ancelotti.
