The Wolfgang core team loses in Berchtesgaden, and with that the title chances are gone.

St. Wolfgang - On the last day of the fight in the upper group league East, the wrestlers of TSV St. Wolfgang lost the title.

With a core team that just secured the minimum number of fighters, they suffered a deserved 16:28 defeat at TSV Berchtesgaden 2.

Already on the descent, the chances of success with only four fully deployable fighters were extremely low.

In the end, two victories against a beatable opponent in the unoccupied 98 kg weight were missing.

The result was even higher on the mat, but since Berchtesgaden also used three fighters in the Bayernliga, these encounters were subsequently counted for St. Wolfgang.

Despite many efforts, coach Ludwig Attenberger was no longer able to replace the three long-term injured players.

Only Adrian Schöder (up to 61 kg), Tawfiq Noori (66 kg), Kevin Kästle (75 kg), Georg Scheffler (86 kg) and Andi Drobny were on the heavyweight division.

All fighters had to compete twice.

Schöder scored four team points twice because his opponent was also fighting in the first team.

Noori won the Greek style with a shoulder win, but surprisingly had to stand on his own shoulders in the freestyle.

Kästle also managed one win and lost once.

Scheffler suffered a narrow point defeat in each of two hard-fought games.

Heavyweight Drobny gave up his fights at the beginning of each due to injury.

After a season that got off to a strong start, despite always a tight cast, the round for the wrestlers ended with a negative experience in second place behind TV Traunstein.

The final fight, which was actually scheduled for the coming weekend, was canceled by ATSV Kelheim.

Thus, at the end of the season only four of the eight registered teams were ready for action, which clearly reflects the problems of many wrestling clubs.
