"Israel Hayom" has learned that Miki Zohar will be appointed Minister of Sports, when his powers will be expanded and Toto will return to work under him, a move that will shorten processes and there will be no end to bureaucracy • The Likud member who knows the world of sports and served as a member of the board of the basketball union, will replace Hili Trooper in his position

The composition of the new government is taking shape and Israel Hayom has learned that MK Miki Zohar is expected to be appointed Minister of Culture and Sports, when his powers will be expanded and Toto will return to work under him.

In January 2019, the toto underwent a reform that was also criticized, when the body no longer transfers the funds it is obligated to transfer directly to sports (through the National Sports Council), but rather the toto's revenues were annexed to the Ministry of Finance.

This move will result in the shortening of processes and no end of bureaucracy, after the various sports bodies, in recent years, encountered a mess in the arrival of the budgets, which led the Ministry of Sports to make a move and starting next year, it will personally transfer to each body that should receive over NIS 100,000.

Zohar, who knows the world of sports and served as a member of the board of the basketball association, is expected to replace Hili Trooper in his position.

When he is appointed, Zohar will be the 11th minister in the position, when he was preceded in Likud by Limor Livnat, Miri Regev and for a short period also Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu.
