The Bayernliga schedule is a little strange this season.

After all: This weekend there is normality for the Peißenberg "Miners": They play twice - and once even at home.

Peißenberg

– In the past two weeks, the Peißenberg “Miners” have only been working part-time in the Bayernliga because they only worked once on each of the two weekends.

"We're happy to be able to get back to the normal rhythm of the game," says Miners coach Sepp Staltmayr.

The guest appearance on Friday (December 9) at ERSC Amberg (8 p.m.) awaits his team.

On Sunday (December 11) it's time to face the "Mighty Dogs" of ERV Schweinfurt (5:45 p.m.) on the home ice rink.

Amberg has no outstanding strikers and is therefore unpredictable

In Amberg, "things get hot," says Staltmayr.

He expects a very difficult task in the duel with the table neighbors, who in fifth place have only one point less than his own team.

Other teams have had to realize this this season, because the Oberpfälzer won all but two games at home.

In contrast to some other teams, the Ambergers do not have an outstanding striker.

However, they have quite a number of prolific players in their ranks, which makes them quite unpredictable.

In the first leg, the "Miners" managed to slow down the ERSC and defeated them 6:2.

"And we're also going to Amberg to score points," says Staltmayr, explaining the high ambitions of the Peißenberg team before the long away trip.

Peißenberg has to watch out for Schweinfurt's first row

On paper, the task against Schweinfurt on Sunday is a little easier.

The Lower Franconia are currently in ninth place under the ominous line that separates participants in the championship round from those in the relegation round.

In the "Mighty Dogs" stands out the front row with Dylan Hood and Joey Sides, who have recorded 65 points together so far.

"We have to get that under control," Staltmayr impressed on his men.

In the first comparison with the Schweinfurters, the Peissenbergers did not get a grip on Sides in particular.

With his three goals, he played a large part in the 6:6 after regular time.

In extra time, the "Miners" then secured the additional point.

This time, Staltmayr would not be satisfied with two points.

"We're playing at home, we really want to win there,"

Goalkeeper Korbinian Sertl and striker Dominic Krabbat in "Team of the Month"

In terms of personnel, the Peissenbergers can draw on plenty of resources next weekend.

There may also be an official newcomer in Simon Gerstmeir.

The striker, who previously played with a license from SC Riessersee, is no longer under contract with SCR.

The decision as to whether he would come to Peißenberg was made yesterday evening after the final training session.

What is certain, however, is that two Peißenberg players can look forward to being voted into the “Team of the Month” by the “Bayernhockey” ice hockey portal.

Goalkeeper Korbinian Sertl and striker Dominic Krabbat earned this honor through strong performances in November.

"We know how valuable they are to us.

But the award is also a reward for the whole team,” said Staltmayr.
